Canon EOS 7D Mark II Camera Review

7dII

Bottom Line:

It’s the top of the crop sensor bodies in the Canon line. And with it’s upgraded dual DIGIC 6+ processors and 65 cross type AF points it’s even a competitor against full frame sensor bodies. Combined with it’s impressive 10 fps continuous shooting, this is a great DSLR for moving objects.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II Performance Review:

The video review below provides for a great overview of the camera with sample photos:

Video review highlights:

  • The Dual DIGIC 6 processors allow for an impressive 10fps continuous shooting. It also allows a native ISO setting of 16000, which is the highest ISO setting on a Canon SLR.
  • The 65 cross type AF points and camera options make the camera good for shooting moving objects.
  • Includes a built in intervalometer (which can be used for timelapse photos).
  • GPS and compass features are also a plus
  • Dust and moisture sealed

Further based on the below video review by Digital Rev which pits the 7D mark II against the 6D and 5D Mark III, the 7D Mark II wins in the following areas:

  • Best weather sealing
  • Best performance with fastest fps and 65 cross type AF points
  • For video has a frame rate of 60fps at 1920 x 1080, which is good for slow motion effects (playing back the footage at half speed.)
  • For side by side spec comparisons feel free to use the the chart here.
