Best Video Editing Laptops Around $1000

I’ve been researching the best laptops around $1000 or below that could be used for video editing, and wanted to share this list with anyone else interested. If you’re unfamiliar with laptop specifications and products available, I recommend looking at cpubenchmark.net to compare CPUs and gpuboss.com to compare the different graphics cards available. For video editing, it’s important that your laptop have a fast processor, a good graphics card, lots of RAM, and lots of hard drive space.

15 inch laptops

1.HP ENVY Touchsmart 15 ($814.99)

What makes this laptop stand out is its touchscreen capability. Windows 8 has been redesigned for a touch screen interface so actually having a touch screen is a plus. The laptop also features a webcam, backlit keyboard, (4) USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI port.

Ultimately, this is the laptop that I ended up purchasing. What sold me on this laptop is that it has a hybrid SSHD and 1 TB hard drive. I preferred a laptop with a solid state drive (SSD) since they are faster than hard disc drives (HDD), so this hybrid option was a good fit. With HDMI out, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, and a memory card reader, the laptop had everything I needed.

Coming in at 5.9 pounds, it’s a little lighter than the other options on this list but still has all the necessities for a great video editing laptop.
